Putting the “Silva” back in Silva Stout, this beer is hand brewed and blended by none other than Chuck Silva!!!
Ouroboros is the base beer that brings new life to Silva Stout with an updated Imperial Stout recipe which undergoes extended aging (14 months) in rye whiskey barrels for full flavor development. Two rye whiskey barrels were selected and blended together for this release with a touch of fresh stout to tame the booziness and finesse the concentrated barrel aged flavors. Without Chuck’s masterful blending this beer wouldn’t garner the Silva Stout label!
Barrel aging in the rye barrels lends boozy notes along with molasses, and oak to an Imperial Stout laced with dark chocolate and roasted cacao flavors. Dark fruit notes of plum, dates, and prune gently emerge from the dark depths of this rye barrel aged stout with hints cola brought forth by the exotic sugars added to the boil kettle.
